It took coming back from a set down, but Alex de Minaur captured the Eastbourne title, the fifth ATP title of his career. The No. 1 ranked Australian defeated Itay's Lorenzo Sonego in the final, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5), in the nearly three-hour affair.

Despite taking the title, de Minaur has his sights set on something bigger: Wimbledon. The Aussie is having an outstanding grass-court swing, having reached the semifinals at Queen's Club before picking up his first title on grass in Eastbourne.

“It’s given me exactly what I wanted to do this week - play some great tennis and get ready for Wimby,” de Minaur said following the victory. The triumph saw hit a career-high ranking this week of world No. 15, which will undoubtedly give him a confidence boost ahead of his opener on Monday.

The 22-year-old has never made it past the third round at Wimbledon, but his campaign will begin against Sebastian Korda, a player de Minaur has yet to square off with.
