Naomi Osaka is popping up all over New York City in the wake of her announcement that she is expecting her first child, going to dinner and coffee with mother Tamaki.

The former world No. 1 shared the major life update on the eve of the 2023 Australian Open, having not been on court since the Toray Pan Pacific Open last fall, but has largely laid low in the weeks since.

“These few months away from the sport has really given me a new love and appreciation for the game,” she wrote at the time. “l've dedicated my life to. I realize that life is so short and I don't take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure.”

Osaka first surfaced at Nippon, a Midtown Japanese restaurant, on Monday, and was later papped outside a Starbucks getting coffee.

Scheduled to give birth in the spring, Osaka has promised a return to action in time for next year’s Australian Open.
