Petra Kvitova

Kvitova, who topped Muguruza to win the Qatar Total Open title back in 2018, is a win away from reaching her third final at the event. The lefty overcame Anett Kontaveit, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, to take a 5-2 lead in their head-to-head series.

With six of the eight seeds out before the quarterfinals, the No. 2 seed managed to avoid the upset bug in Rotterdam. The recent Australian Open semifinalist fought off Hubert Hurkacz, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, and will now take on Karen Khachanov for a place in the semifinals.

Eyeing his first title in nearly three years, the world No. 26 remained on track in Rotterdam thanks to his 6-3, 6-2 dismissal of Dusan Lajovic, who ousted world No. 3 Daniil Medvedev. Coric converted four of his break points against the Serbian, and gets Kei Nishikori Friday.
