Last year when the world of sports was severely affected by the on-going pandemic, recreational tennis was booming. Tennis is a sport where players can stay 78 feet apart, get fresh air and stay active, all while having social interaction. The game that starts at love was a source of hope during a somber 2020.

The USTA wants to keep the upward trend going by giving "tennis champions" the opportunity to grow their local tennis communities and earn rewards in the process. The new 'Tennis Champions' program is all about growing the game by connecting passionate players and advocates of the sport with others.

"Tennis thrives in communities when dedicated, passionate people advocate for the sport. That’s why the USTA is launching Tennis Champions, an effort to educate, celebrate, connect, and inspire people with a passion for tennis to join a team with a mission to grow tennis in their local communities," the USTA said.

If you find yourself talking about who could win this year's upcoming Roland Garros or constantly encouraging your friends to pick up a racquet, you could have what it takes to be a Tennis Champion. Participants must be 18 or older to participate and USTA is currently accepting applications.

Participants will also have the opportunity to earn up to $600 in incentives, gain access to exclusive webinars and receive special codes and coupons. The benefits are endless, but the chance to be a part of growing the sport of a lifetime is the ultimate reward.

Each month, Tennis Champions will be asked to complete several challenges ranging from just encouraging people to play to helping new players experience the game. It's also important to note that participants won't be alone in trying to complete these challenges—USTA will be providing useful resources along the way.

With participation climbing 50% higher in 2020 compared to the previous year, it's important to keep the ball rolling. If this sounds right up your alley, be sure to apply here!
