Carlos Alcaraz says he has recovered from an elbow injury that kept him from playing his scheduled grass-court tune-up at Queen's Club, but says he is still lacking experience on the surface coming into Wimbledon.

The 19-year-old from Spain said he did not experience any problems with the elbow during his exhibition against Frances Tiafoe this week at Hurlingham, despite still wearing strapping on his arm.

That's a big improvement, he says.

"A week ago I couldn't train at all," Alcaraz told Spanish press at Hurlingham. "I came uncertain whether I was going to be able to play normally. These days that I have been able to train here I have felt quite good."

Alcaraz has been one of the hottest players of this season so far, winning Rio, Miami, Barcelona and Madrid, along with reaching the quarterfinals of the French Open. But though he is the fifth seed at Wimbledon, Alcaraz cautions, ''There are many players who play better on grass than me. Djokovic, Rafa, Berrettini."

The teen has played only a handful of grass-court matches, but is working on adjusting his game.

'We're trying to improve there, in movement and in small details that are more important on this surface," he says. "Being more aggressive than usual."

Alcaraz is No. 7 in the rankings.
