Novak Djokovic has decided he will play Tokyo next week, his first event since retiring with a shoulder injury at the US Open.

The No. 1 finalized his plans a couple of days ago, according to Sport Klub. He was also shown practicing on court this week, having done rehab on the injury and spent time on vacation with his family since his fourth-round defeat at Flushing Meadows.

But other players have withdrawn from next week's events. Russian Daniil Medvedev, who has reached the finals of five straight events he's played, will not be appearing at Beijing. Also not playing is Nick Kyrgios, who similarly  announced that he is withdrawing from the Shanghai Masters the following week.

Milos Raonic and Stanislas Wawrinka have withdrawn from Tokyo, joining home favorite Kei Nishikori, who is experiencing an injured elbow. Raonic and Nishikori will also not be playing Shanghai.

Andy Murray, who is currently returning from hip surgery, is scheduled to play Beijing.
