The crowd at the Nitto ATP Finals didn't just give Lorenzo Musetti a much needed boost on the way to victory on Tuesday. They also went found their voice in cheering vociferously for another Top 10-ranked Italian.

Paolini loves her home nation as much as it loves her. In 2025, she became the first Italian woman to win the singles title at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome in 40 years, and a day later swept the trophies by also winning doubles with Sara Errani.

She also helped Italy win another BIllie Jean King Cup title, and was also named a torchbearer for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics.

"It's a dream to win in Rome, of course ... for every kid that's playing in Italy," Paolini said after upsetting Coco Gauff to win Rome. "I'm enjoying the moment. It's an amazing one."

She had another home-soil highlight in Turin.
