The Pick, presented by DraftKings Sportsbook: Lorenzo Musetti vs. Casper Ruud & Alex De Minaur vs. Frances Tiafoe, Paris

If you like parlays, today is your lucky day. We like world No. 23 Lorenzo Musetti to win a set off world No. 4 Casper Ruud, and world No. 21 Frances Tiafoe to do the same against world No. 25 Alex De Minaur on Thursday at the Rolex Paris Masters.

If you were to jump on those bets separately, you’d have to lay a lot of juice on each individual player to cover. But when you combine them together, you get it at plus-money odds. And considering we think both players have legitimate chances to win outright, the value is just too hard to pass up.

In the last month or so, Ruud just hasn’t been playing his best tennis. The 23-year-old has lost to Yoshihto Nishioki, Jaume Munar and Stan Wawrinka in that time. He also had quite a bit of trouble against Richard Gasquet in his first match in Paris. All in all, it’s just a far cry from the level we saw Ruud reach in making the final at both the French Open and US Open.

Meanwhile, Musetti is coming off wins over big hitters like Marin Cilic and Nikoloz Basilashvili. The Italian can be really dangerous when he is locked in and swinging freely, and we think he will be in this late-season matchup.

As for Tiafoe, it’s just hard to know which version of the American you’re going to get, but he does appear to be dialed in here, and he even said himself that he’d love to head into the offseason with some momentum. That’s exactly what you want to hear out of somebody you’re betting on in November, as it can be tough to gauge how interested players are this late in the year.

Tiafoe also happens to have a solid match-up in this round, as he’s taking on de Minaur after the Aussie's breakthrough win over world No. 3 Daniil Medvedev. That makes this a prime let-down spot. And despite Tiafoe's 0-3 record against de Minaur, the American has always taken a set from the Aussie. (They've played at the Next Gen Finals, Brisbane and in US Open qualifying.) Overall, we feel there’s a real revenge factor at play.

Betting on players to win sets can also be extremely rewarding. On the off chance your player wins the first, you don’t even have to bother watching the rest of the match. That’s exactly what happened in yesterday's The Pick, in which Corentin Moutet won the opener against Cameron Norrie. There’s no guarantee that will happen with these two, but you should feel comfort in knowing that your player doesn’t have to win outright in order for you to win this bet, at the very least.

These are also two exciting matches that we’re on, so you are only adding to the joy of watching them by having some skin in the game.
