The Ruud family puts on inaugural Casper Ruud Open in Oslo

The Casper Ruud Open debuted earlier this month at the Oslo Tennis Arena. Go inside the special project:

Casper Ruud’s motivation behind the tournament was to give back by helping encourage aspiring juniors that it’s possible to train at home and make it to the top as a Norwegian.

Ruud’s inner circle all got involved with making it an educational weekend.

Ruud’s team of physios and trainers provided stretching and fitness demonstrations to roughly 200 kids. Mom Lele and dad Christian also led a seminar for parents.

The two-time Grand Slam finalist talked about his experiences and fielded questions.

There was plenty of time for selfies, too, as Ruud is driven to build connections with local children.

The event held singles draws for boys and girls in under 14 and under 12 categories.

In addition to being crowned champions, the four event winners also earned a private lesson with the man himself.

Kudos to you and your crew for a wonderful initiative, Casper. Here’s to the next one!
