The Italian has grown up as a player—and a person—in a year he won't forget.

“We want to focus on changing the culture of what’s appropriate and making sure everyone feels welcome on the tennis court,” says co-founder Virginia Thornton in a Baseline exclusive.

“Doesn’t matter what event it is, singles, doubles, mixed,” says the U.S. Davis Cup captain.

The annual international competitions will converge for the first time, in Malaga, Spain. “We’re looking to still be around there when the boys make their first match,” says Davenport.

After adding two more majors to her trophy collection, the WTA Finals’ top seed nurtures a bourgeoning celebrity while continuing to improve a fearsome on-court arsenal.

In a year filled with change and disruption, the 30-year-old is right where she wants to be.

Looking to make up for lost time, the Australian can help his Turin cause with a strong showing in Vienna.

"It has not been addressed enough overall," he says in Vienna. "It's up to the players and everyone around to address it, or not. I’m just speaking my heart on that."

The 28-year-old also speaks to respecting Dominic Thiem's decision to retire in Vienna.
