The ITF's Katrina Adams stays on the front lines for women with the Tory Burch Foundation Sports Fellowship

By winning her opening match at the US Open on Monday—she stormed past Sweden's Rebecca Peterson, 6-0, 6-1—Iga Swiatek has guaranteed herself of surpassing $20 million in career prize money earnings after the tournament.

She came into the tournament with $19,906,763 and reaching the second round at the US Open earns a player $123,000.

The 22-year-old from Poland, who was born in 2001, will become the first female tennis player born in the 2000s to reach that milestone. Just last week, 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz became the first tennis player born in the 2000s, male or female, to do it.

In WTA history, Swiatek will be the 23rd player to hit that number.
