It’s also how Jennifer Brady feels about making her long-awaited return to the match court.

The 2021 Australian Open finalist hasn’t played since August 2021, when a knee injury—later determined to be a stress fracture requiring surgery—forced her to retire in the second set of a Cincinnati clash with Jelena Ostapenko. When she approached a resumption, a foot issue then pushed Brady’s timeline back this spring, sidelining her from both Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

She’s “finally” ready now. Brady is slated to compete Monday at the ITF W100 event in Granby, Canada, when she begins her comeback against Japan’s Kyoka Okamura.

“Big week this week, playing first match back. Super thrilled,” she said in her first of three IG stories. “Just want to say it’s about damn time. Finally getting back out there.”

The former world No. 13, who also advanced to the 2020 US Open semifinals, had a new collaboration to share as well.
