As he continues to establish himself as one of the world's best tennis players, Carlos Alcaraz is drawing comparisons not only to other greats in his chosen sport, but to some of greatest athletes on the planet.

During Alcaraz's three-set win over fellow young star Holger Rune on Wednesday at Wimbledon, which put him into the semifinals at the All England Club for the first time, legendary soccer-player-turned-broadcaster Gary Lineker likened the Spaniard to the perfect blend of two of the most famous soccer players of all-time.

"He looks and moves like a footballer, with the power and pace of a [Cristiano] Ronaldo, mixed with the deftness of touch and feel of a [Lionel] Messi, but with a [racquet]," Lineker, now a broadcaster for the BBC, tweeted.

Earlier in the tournament, the English Football Hall of Famer, who recorded 80 caps for the English team in his career was on hand at SW19 with his son Tobias to watch the action up close, and watched Alcaraz's third-round win over Chile's Nicolas Jarry.

It was then that he first praised the world No. 1, calling him "incredibly talented."

But the famous footballer isn't the only recognizable face who's been taking in the action at Wimbledon.

From Queen Camilla and the Princess of Wales, to athletes like David Beckham and Jimmy Butler, Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, model Cara Delevingne, and singers Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Liam Payne and Katy Perry, the All England Club has been a hub for star-spotting this fortnight.

Last year's finalist Ons Jabeur, back into the semifinals this year, was one player who rubbed shoulders with a celebrity, as she gushed about her meeting with Beckham in the first week.

"Such an amazing person," the Tunisian said. "I was really looking forward to meet him. We've been trying to organize this for a long time. Very happy that I spoke to him. Hopefully will meet him again."
