MATCH POINT: Andrey Rublev breaks Chris Eubanks, moves into Montpellier quarterfinals

Andrey Rublev is bringing a new vibe in 2025, on and off the court.

The world No. 10 broke a five-match losing streak to claim his first win of the year on Wednesday at the Open Occitanie, defeating Christopher Eubanks 6-4, 6-3 to move into the quarterfinals.

And on the same day, he delighted fans of his personal style with the release of a new Rublo collection that’s all about casual-cool streetwear.

The latest drop called “City Vibe Essentials” features minimalist off-court staples like loose tees, sweatshirts, cargo pants and jackets. The collection is live now on rubloshop.com, with shipping set to start on February 5th.

Rublev launched his semi-eponymous clothing brand in 2023, designing and creating his own on- and off-court wardrobe after departing Nike. Last summer, K-Swiss signed Rublev to a multiyear apparel and shoes deal that includes the development of new Hypercourt Pinnacle shoes and an upcoming collaboration between Rublo and the American sportswear label.

“For a long time I wanted to do something on my own, that’s only mine,” Rublev told Baseline at the 2024 US Open. “And I did it and it started to go really well, and then the offer came from K-Swiss which only benefits me…

“I’m still choosing my clothes, so that’s the good part,” he added. “And also I can still send ideas to my own designers and they will make it for me.

“Of course, the tennis stuff will be now with K-Swiss. But other (off-court) stuff is staying the same…”

This marks the second shoppable Rublo collection after the inaugural “Play For The Kids” charity project, which raised over $150,000 for children with critical health needs.

Those funds helped launch the Andrey Rublev Foundation, which has since provided financial assistance to patients at Sant Joan de Déu Children's Hospital in Barcelona and funded pediatric surgeries in collaboration with CURE Uganda.

In Montpellier, top seed Rublev booked a spot in his first quarterfinal of the year, where he awaits the winner of No. 7 seed Arthur Rinderknech and qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili.
