Andrey Rublev has long sworn by his light-blocking glasses as part of his efforts to “conquer the storm inside”—and now he’s taking that obsession one step further, dropping his own signature frames in collaboration with Ra Optics.

The Russian has been sporting the brand’s colorful glasses for over a year, sparking a trend that’s spread across the ATP and WTA Tour. Novak Djokovic, Elena Rybakina, Alexander Bublik and more have all been spotted wearing Ra Optics’ signature yellow or orange lenses.

But the glasses are more than just a fashion statement. According to Ra Optics founder Matt Maruca—often seen in Rublev’s player box—the brand is rooted in the belief that light has a major impact on health, sleep and focus. Artificial blue light from screens, LED fixtures, and fluorescent bulbs can disrupt the body’s circadian rhythm, and over time, this can negatively affect performance and recovery.

Ra Optics’ lenses block out 95 percent or more of this harmful light, and have become popular with professional athletes looking to gain that one or two percent edge for better performance. The yellow “Daylight” lenses aim to relieve eye strain, headaches and mental fatigue while improving mood and productivity. The orange “Sunset” lenses are built for evening use to support better sleep.

Now, Rublev has joined forces with the brand to create a new frame called Tempest. The sporty, vintage-inspired glasses come in two colors—Mountain Forest green and Mallorca Orange—and are compatible with both Daylight or Sunset lenses.

“Happy to share my first collaboration with @ra_optics,” Rublev wrote on Instagram. “I’ve been using their glasses for over a year to help with recovery, focus, and sleep—now we’ve created a frame together.”

The limited-edition Tempest frames are available for pre-order now for $304 USD.

On court, Rublev is currently the No. 5 seed at the Mubadala Citi DC Open, a combined 500-level event in Washington D.C. He’s coming off a strong stretch of results, including a fourth-round showing at Wimbledon, a semifinal run in Los Cabos and a return to the ATP Top 10.

With a first-round bye, Rublev is set to face American teenager Learner Tien in his tournament opener. Tien advanced with a 6-1, 6-4 win over compatriot Emilio Nava on Monday.
