Andy Murray announced on Tuesday that he’s going to donate the earnings from his prize money for the rest of the year to UNICEF UK’s efforts to help children in Ukraine.

As the conflict escalates and with millions of children at risk, the organization has been providing families access to clean water and healthy food, delivering lifesaving supplies to support families who have been forced to flee, and much, much more.

Murray has a long history with charitable causes—he’s a global ambassador for UNICEF, United for Wildlife, Malaria No More and the World Wildlife Fund.

He also headlined the Rally For Cancer at Queen’s Club in 2013 (an exhibition that raised money for The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer center that treated his friend and former ATP player Ross Hutchins) and donated his 45,000 euros in prize money from the Mutua Madrid Open video game tournament in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, to the NHS and ATP’s Player Relief Programme.

The Brit received the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award in 2014.
