What goes on once the Met Gala moves off the red carpet? Lucky for you, Tennis Channel had at least one invitee willing to give us an insider perspective.

Andy Roddick checked in on Tennis Channel Live to recap his 2023 Met Gala, which he attended alongside wife Brooklyn Decker.

“The people were better looking than the last prom I went to, I’ll tell you that much,” joked the former world No. 1, “but it was a blast! We got to go and support our friend Roger Federer, who did a great job hosting; I think that means shaking hands with people.”

Federer served as Met Gala co-chair with Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Dua Lipa, and Anna Wintour, which perhaps explained the sizeable tennis presence that included Matteo Berrettini and 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.

Williams famously announced that she and husband Alexis Ohanian are expecting their second child on the red carpet.

“We got to see Serena, who told me about the baby and the pregnancy; it was a great night catching up with some old friends.”

Once inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Roddick described the surreal celebreality that unfolded.

“The museum was shut down, so you go through the new Karl Lagerfeld exhibit. There’s no real plus-ones or publicists or anything else, so it’s nice to see all the celebrities arrive without their pacifier and have to actually engage, talk, and be amongst one another. It’s an unbelievable event.

“I got to say hello to Patrick Mahomes, but I basically watched Pete Davidson do his thing for like, three hours, which is endlessly entertaining.”

Hopefully Roddick doesn't spill too much tea; we need him back on the red carpet next year!
