Quote of the Day: Barbora Krejcikova is in her “fan girl era” cheering on Cezchia at the Paris Olympics

The women’s Wimbledon champion fell short at the Paris Olympics, losing in the quarterfinals of singles and doubles, but that’s not what she’s taking away from the 2024 Games.

“In my fan girl era,” Barbora Krejcikova posted on X, with a selfie and a view of Court Suzanne Lenglen.

The Czech was there on Friday to Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova in the women's doubles semifinals, against the Italian team of Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini.

“Let’s go girls!” Krejcikova cheered in her Instagram story.

It was a straight-set victory for the Italians, however, meaning the Czech team will face off against Spaniards Cristina Bucsa and Sara Sorribes Tormo for the bronze medal on Sunday.

After stopping by the Czech House at Cabaret Sauvage, Krejcikova made her way back to Roland Garros for one more Czechian Olympic battle, this one for gold.

Mixed doubles team Tomas Machac and Katerina Siniakova, who recently ended their relationship, took the court shortly after Novak Djokovic secured his place in his gold-medal match to take on China’s powerhouse duo Xinyu Wang and Zhizhen Zhang.

This time, the Czech team came out on top, winning 10-8 in a deciding super tiebreak.

“Better than packing a second suitcase today,” Krejcikova wrote on her Instagram story.

Machac and Siniakova earned the first Olympic medal in Paris for their country, while Muchova and Noskova look to add another in bronze in the days to come. The only question is whether fan-girl Krejcikova will make one last appearance before packing yet another suitcase.
