“Mr. and Mrs. coming soon 💍 ❤️”

Caroline Garcia and partner Borja Duran announced their engagement on Wednesday, the former world No. 4 sharing photos of the happy couple on their respective social media accounts.

Garcia and Duran have been inseparable since last year, channeling their romantic connection into a professional endeavor at the start of 2024 when they debuted the Tennis Insider Club podcast, which premiered in February.

“We started talking about it with my partner in China,” Garcia recalled to me during the Internazionali BNL d’Italia last month. “I was going through a difficult time and he started to travel with me quite a lot and started to see what was behind the scenes and what players, me or other ones, are going through.

“We think what helps us is the combination of my experience on the tour and Borja’s experience off the tour. We have different points of view and so we ask different questions.”

The French-Spanish pair serve as co-hosts of the English-language podcast, with Garcia sourcing the interview subjects while Duran taking on production-editing responsibilities.

“It’s been a very good experience to be on the other side,” she said of her foray into journalism. “As a couple, it’s a great memory to share time outside the tennis court.”

Fellow players flooded Garcia’s Instagram with congratulatory comments, including Daria Saville, Lucas Pouille, and Alizé Cornet, who was also a guest on Tennis Insider Club.

Garcia, who dealt with a shoulder injury during Roland Garros, is set to compete in the upcoming WTA grass-court swing, including Wimbledon, where she has twice reached the fourth round.
