Last year, Roland Garros became the site of Coco Gauff’s biggest career success as the American teenager reached the final in both singles and doubles. With the clay-court Grand Slam just around the corner, Gauff is commemorating her return to Paris in style by unveiling a new colorway of her signature New Balance Coco CG1s.

The new “Twisted Net” colorway combines two of Gauff’s biggest passions: tennis—signified by an artistic take on a net—and social media—as the ‘net’ warps into the ‘Internet’. Incorporating crisp blues and greens against classic white and black, the shoe takes its inspiration from classic French fashion—with a futuristic, edgy twist.

Currently the only active tennis player with her own signature shoe, Gauff has used her unique position to put her stamp on her on-and-off-court fashion through memorable colorways and designs. The CG1s recently dropped in the lime green “Fuzzy Ace”, the first off-court version of her shoe with the look and feel of a tennis ball, while the “Coco Classics”, a timeless white sneaker, is another standout.

“Everything that I wear on the court, everything pretty much I get from them, I've probably seen a year in advance and have basically picked out every detail that I didn't like,” Gauff recently told Baseline. “I'm very happy that they're so welcoming in what I want.

“A lot of brands aren't always like that with all their athletes. I'm grateful I'm able to do that.”

While Gauff hits the courts at Roland Garros with her new “Twisted Net” CG1s, the world No. 6 hopes to recapture her winning ways at her most successful Grand Slam. The 19-year-old has only won one match from three lead-up tournaments in singles—although in doubles with Jessica Pegula Gauff has reached back-to-back WTA 1000 finals in Madrid and Rome.

The Twisted Net CG1s will be available globally on May 26, with Roland Garros main draw action starting May 28.
