Amid reports of the birth of his first son, Rafael Nadal has taken to Twitter to thank fans and well-wishers for their support.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner and his wife, Maria Perello, reportedly became parents last week to a baby boy—and everyone is doing “very well”, Nadal confirmed in a social media post on Thursday.

“Hello everyone. After a few days and many loving messages, I just wanted to thank you all!” he wrote in Spanish.

“We are very happy, and everyone is very well! A big hug.”

While it’s unclear if Nadal will return to the ATP Tour this season, the Spaniard has also recently confirmed his participation in a series of exhibition matches set in Latin America.

Joined by Casper Ruud, the “Revenge” tour will take the 2022 French Open finalists to Buenos Aires, Argentina and Mexico City during the off-season.

Nadal hasn’t let up on his training in preparation, posting up a storm from his eponymous academy in Mallorca practicing with 18-year-old Coleman Wong.

"Very grateful and honored to have trained with my idol Rafael Nadal,” wrote Wong, a Rafa Nadal Academy regular who recently turned pro.

“The man who made me start playing tennis!!! Thank you for arranging the hit!!”
