MIAMI—How quick is a tennis player’s reaction time? F1 driver Pierre Gasly put Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek to the test at the Miami Open on Sunday, challenging the two tennis stars to catch tennis balls without warning.

“I challenge you players to catch three tennis balls without dropping them,” said Gasly, who takes this challenge on before each race.

Ruud was first to accept the challenge, going three for three in his attempts posted to social media.

“You know, I do play around with [tennis] balls a lot,” cracked the former world No. 2 without any irony before showing off his impressive reaction skills.

But it was Swiatek who brought the challenge to a new level, crossing her arms and even attempting to catch the ball with her eyes closed.

“I may not win the Miami Open this year, I can compete pretty well on this one because I do this exercise every time before a practice or a match,” said the world No. 1, who was forced to pull out of Miami due to a persistent rib injury.

Which players will step up to Gasly’s challenge next?
