Before hitting forehands, the stars of the Laver Cup were saying "Fore!" Team Europe's Carlos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud and Alexader Zverev were happy to trade tennis racquets for golf clubs shortly after arriving in San Francisco as they hit the greens with Roger Federer.

Federer issued Alcaraz, who clinched the title for Team Europe last year, a warm welcome back to Laver Cup with a post to Instagram, complementing Alcaraz's "nice work on the golf course" alongside heartwarming photos of the pair.

"Hope you packed your racquets," the Swiss also quipped under images that showed him examining Alcaraz's new platinum buzzcut and hugging it out with the current world No. 1.

But those weren't the only kind words that one future International Tennis Hall of Famer had for (likely) another in recent weeks.

After winning his second US Open title earlier this month, Alcaraz spoke candidly about the advice the Swiss has recently given him.

"He told me you have to be focused on the next five years, from here to when I'm 27," Alcaraz said. "And then, when I get 27, then think about five years more.

"I think that's the best person that ... could tell me that, and I will try to follow his words."

But the reigning Roland Garros and US Open champion wasn't Federer's only putting partner. Also part of the outing were Ruud and Zverev.

After going head-to-head on the links, Alcaraz, Ruud and Zverev will link up in the hopes of leading Team Europe to a sixth Laver Cup title.
