US Open semifinalist Tiafoe is playing the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships in Tokyo next week.

WATCH: Tiafoe's stellar summer continued at Laver Cup, where he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Frances Tiafoe, one of the hottest players on the ATP tour this summer, met Steph Curry—one of the biggest names in basketball, and in sports, period—in Japan on Friday night.

Curry is in Japan for the NBA’s preseason. On Friday his team, the Golden State Warriors, played the Washington Wizards (Tiafoe’s favorite team) at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, a city just north of Tokyo, and in the Greater Tokyo Area.

The Warriors defeated the Wizards, 96-87, to open the NBA preseason.

Tiafoe had a chance to meet the NBA Finals MVP:

Next week, Tiafoe is playing the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships, an ATP 500 event. The No. 19-ranked American is coming off a fantastic summer, highlighted by reaching his first major semifinal at the US Open (beating Rafael Nadal along the way) and clinching the Laver Cup title for Team World last weekend.
