NEW YORK—The celebratory atmosphere surrounding the lead-up to the 2024 US Open continued with a Stars of the Open exhibition event, which played out pas part of its annual Fan Week on Arthur Ashe Stadium Thursday night.

Presented by Chase, the Stars of the Open was a lighter answer to the more competitive fare offered by Wednesday’s Mixed Madness, which awarded a $250,000 prize to winners Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The night featured a who’s who of tennis stars past and present, including Iga Swiatek and Sebastian Korda in a mixed doubles scrimmage with Italians Jasmine Paolini and Matteo Berrettini, and legendary Argentines Juan Martin del Potro and Gabriela Sabatini teaming up against Andy Roddick and Caroline Wozniacki.

An especially star-studded moment took place in a doubles clash between John McEnroe and Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz and Andre Agassi; together, the four combined for a whopping 43 Grand Slam titles.

The US Open’s official website confirmed that “A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go to the USTA Foundation, the national philanthropic arm of the USTA. The USTA Foundation, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024, provides tennis and educational opportunities to children through the organization’s National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network, sport-based development programs for under-served youth around the country.”

It will be tough to top the combined star power in the two weeks to come, but the final major tournament of 2024 appears up to the task as Fan Week heads into the weekend.
