Hurkacz Hubi Cup

Following his early exit at Roland Garros, Hubert Hurkacz headed back to where his tennis journey began to inspire the next generation of Polish players.

At the third annual Hubi Cup in Wroclaw, Poland, the players competed not just for a trophy, but for a chance to have an unforgettable experience at the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle along with Hurkacz, last year’s finalist.

“This tournament is all about young talent, love for the game, and the spirit of community,” Hurkacz said on Instagram, adding that he is “proud to support the next generation.”

Crowds of young tennis players and their families gathered at the courts where Hurkacz first learned to play to hear the story of his career, learn about injury and injury prevention, have a yoga session, and so much more.

The world No. 32 even took the court himself before the tournament crowned its victors.

By the end of the event, four finalists earned a trip to Germany. Although Hurkacz, last year's finalist, was forced to withdraw from the event due to a back injury, that didn't stop him from ensuring the youngsters had a day to remember.
