Who wears short shorts? 🩳

The clamdigger days appear well and truly over as tennis players have taken to sporting vanishingly high inseams for their matches in 2024. While style icons like Rafael Nadal have taken fans on a journey from long to short, the ATP tour’s short shorts trend is most commonly associated with Holger Rune, who has shaken off teasing from rivals like Daniil Medvedev to hike himself ahead of the fashion curve.

“I think five inches is pretty good,” he said of his Nike-designed inseam at the BNP Paribas Open. “I don’t know how long these are, but they’re around five.”

But what do other players think of the trend?

“I want to see that! Please!” jokes Aryna Sabalenka, who has been known to don shorts herself on the court.

““You guys know I love that,” agrees Ben Shelton.

“I’ve actually seen this a few times this year. It looks funny. It’s not my style,” concludes Stefnos Tsitsipas, who is joined by Casper Ruud and Alex de Minaur.

“I don’t really know,” hedges Arthur Fils. “[Holger] likes it but for us, it’s a little bit weird, let’s say.”

“Sometimes they’re a little short to where the boys are cheeking,” reveals Madison Keys. “It’s just a little bit a lot.”
