No one expected Johanna Konta's last match on the WTA Tour to be at this summer's Western & Southern Open. The Brit didn't compete following her loss to Karolina Muchova at the 1000-level event, and earlier this month she retired from the sport. As if that news wasn't dramatic enough, Konta decided to hit her fans with another big life update.

Konta married her longtime boyfriend Jackson Wade over the weekend. She announced the news casually on Twitter.

Konta likes to keep her personal life private, but she did showoff her beautiful diamond engagement ring in June.

Now, the couple has officially tied the knot. Unfortunately, Konta's tweet is the only thing she shared and her followers are dying to see photos of the special day. The former British No. 1 admitted the adjustment from not being a professional tennis player will be difficult as she already misses it, but she's also looking forward to beginning this new chapter.

"I am literally in a situation where I have to reinvent myself or re-find myself in the world, in life, in my life, with purpose and interests and ability. It's a very daunting and scary thing, but it just feels right," she said.
