The Hamburg European Open revealed an intriguing new hire ahead of its combined ATP and WTA tournament this July, announcing former American standout Kristie Ahn as their official social media manager.
A Stanford University grad, Ahn retired from professional tennis back in March after a career that not only took her into the Top 100 but also saw her reach the fourth round of the 2019 US Open.
Off the court, the 29-year-old displayed an impressive aptitude for pop culture and memes, leading her to launch an eponymous TikTok account that took off during the global pandemic. Ahn currently boasts just under a million likes on her unique mix of cultural and comedic content.
Ahn expanded her media marketing portfolio when she teamed up with artist @Colacatlee to create a Squid Game-inspired illustration of the WTA Race to Guadalajara last fall.
