Netflix is adding another tennis-themed docuseries to its list of releases, spotlighting none other than 22-time major champion Rafael Nadal.

Partnering with Skydance Sports, “unprecedented access with Nadal” will showcase the Spaniard’s efforts to get back on the court for one final season in 2024, along with unseen footage from the legend’s own archives of material.

The series will be produced by David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, Jason Reed, and Jon Weinbach for Skydance Sports, with Zach Heinzerling set to direct. It is yet to be named.

“I never thought I’d do something like this, but I got a call from David Ellison and with his words together with an amazing project they put in front of my eyes, it really convinced me this was the right thing to do,” Nadal said in a statement provided by Netflix.

“Everyone will be able to see how my life has been during my tennis career and particularly in this very last year I had. It will also show how my life and my tennis career developed through the years.”

Nadal finished his career with a 1080-228 record and 92 tour-level titles.

Nadal ultimately stepped into retirement following his appearance for Spain at November’s Davis Cup Finals in Malaga. During the 2024 season, he played his final Grand Slam match at Roland Garros in a blockbuster first-round clash with eventual finalist Alexander Zverev, reached the Bastad singles final and partnered Carlos Alcaraz to the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics after returning from a lengthy left hip flexor injury.

Netflix previously produced two seasons of the tennis docuseries “Break Point” and a live exhibition, “The Netflix Slam”, featuring Nadal and Alcaraz this past March in Las Vegas. In 2025, the media company is due to release “Carlos Alcaraz: My Way”, a docuseries following the Murcia native throughout a 2024 campaign that saw Alcaraz add two more major titles to his collection.
