The world No. 1 earned a comeback win for the Paris Masters 1000 title.

It was another day of breaking records for Novak Djokovic.

The Serbian defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final of the Rolex Paris Masters after losing the first set. It's a record-setting 37th Masters 1000 crown and record-extending sixth Paris Masters title. Not to mention, Djokovic avenged his tough final-round loss against the Russian at the US Open.

Yet the history making did not end there. By beating Hubert Hurkacz, 3-6, 6-0, 7-6, in the semifinals the father of two secured the year-end world No. 1 ranking for the seventh time, breaking the tie with Pete Sampras' record.

The world No. 1 came close to not capturing a single Masters 1000 trophy this season, which would have marked the first time since 2017. However, Djokovic managed to play a different game this time around against the gritty baseliner by approaching the net, eliminating time and long rallies behind the baseline. Who said a 20-time Grand Slam champion can't learn new tricks?

Djokovic will now head to Italy to compete at the Nitto ATP Finals. Currently, the 34-year-old holds five ATP Finals titles, one less than Roger Federer.
