Coco Gauff reacts to routine Raducanu Win

ROME, Italy—This ain’t Texas, but the United Kingdom is shaping up to be the perfect place for Coco Gauff to catch Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour, which kicked off earlier this month in Los Angeles.

The WTA Tour’s resident tastemaker was fielding several music questions after her 6-1, 6-2 victory over Emma Raducanu at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia when Queen Bey came up rather organically in her post-match press conference:

Q. What is the best concert you've been to?

COCO GAUFF: For sure Beyoncé Renaissance. I think that level of production is insane. I would like to go to Cowboy Carter, too. I don't think anyone can top Beyoncé, to be honest.

Q. She's going to be in England before Wimbledon.

COCO GAUFF: I might look at those days. I need to figure it out right now (laughter).

Indeed, Cowboy Carter will hit the British Isles just as Roland Garros is winding up, giving Gauff multiple opportunities to join the Beyhive in concert between then and Wimbledon at the end of the month.

Gauff is in the midst of a wildly successful clay-court swing, reaching her first final at the Mutua Madrid Open and now the quarterfinals in Rome. Tentatively projected to return to No. 2 in the WTA rankings next week, Gauff saved her most dominant performance for Raducanu on Monday to book a last-eight rematch with Mirra Andreeva, who she beat last week in Madrid.
