Nadal Ruud Latin America Start v1-1

Vamos! Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud have officially begun their Latin America tour.

Fresh off finishing as the runner-up at the Nitto ATP Finals, Ruud linked up with the 22-time major champion in Spain for their first flight to Argentina. Just days earlier, Nadal defeated the Norwegian, 7-5, 7-5, in a "dead" round-robin encounter to cap his 2022 season at Turin.

Before taking the court together again, Nadal and Ruud took in one of the most breathtaking sights the world has to offer—Iguazu Falls. The largest waterfall system on the planet boasts a network of 275 waterfalls on the Argentina-Brazil border.

“It’s a spectacular view, one of the most beautiful places in Latin America. If you have the time, I really recommend you come here and visit,” Ruud said in a video posted on his social media.

The two are set to play their first exhibition match at Parque Roca in Buenos Aires Wednesday evening. The Argentine capital marked the site of Ruud's first ATP triumph in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the tours. He celebrated a second trophy at the 250 tournament in February after returning from an ankle injury that prevented him from contesting the Australian Open.

After Nadal faces Alejandro Tabilo in Santiago on November 25, the left-hander will be back with Ruud for four more appearances in Belo Horizonte, Quito, Bogota and Mexico City.
