In between training for the final tournaments of the hectic tennis calendar and having his hands full with new parenthood, Rafael Nadal is still finding time to notch a few new firsts.

The 22–time Grand Slam champion has recently unveiled a bespoke trio of luxury fragrances, with a twist—the three eaux de parfums were created in collaboration between Nadal and his wife, Maria Francisco Perello.

“I’m a very public person in my work, of course, but in my private life, one of the most important things—and what I consider to be one of my greatest successes—is that Maria and I have been able to have a really normal life,” Nadal told Vogue in an interview.

“We’re taking the next step in our lives now, though, so we thought—why not do something together?”

Titled In All Intimacy, the fragrance set is a joint venture between the Nadals and haute parfumerie Henry Jacques. The full set contains three different fragrances, with aptly chosen names: Rafael Nadal No. 1, Rafael Nadal No. 2 and Maria Perello.

According to the French perfume makers, the pair of “Rafael Nadal” fragrances were designed in contrast—one reportedly represents the Spanish player’s public persona, while the other represents his private side. As such, No. 1 is described as more of a daytime fragrance—marked by notes of coriander, thyme, violet, and lemon with cedar, sandalwood and leather—while No. 2 is a heavier fragrance fit for the evening, with bergamot, jasmine, musk, and sandalwood notes.

Perello, meanwhile, was also left to her own devices when it came time to create her own fragrance to complete the set.

“We were at home trying things, talking about it, but I stopped myself giving any input on it because, at the end of the day, it’s something very personal,” Nadal said.

"I envisioned this fragrance as a sense of security, self-confidence, uniqueness, strength and completeness," Perello added. Her namesake perfume contains notes of orange blossom with bergamot, jasmine and sandalwood.

"I really wanted it to smell like elegance, and more importantly, happiness."

The In All Intimacy collection—Rafael Nadal No. 1, Rafael Nadal No. 2 and Maria Perello—is available in Henry Jacques boutiques and online. Each perfume retails for $1,170 USD.

Nadal, currently ranked world No. 2, is next scheduled to be back on court for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, which kicks off on Sunday, November 13.
