Roger Federer’s Wimbledon winning racquet currently up for auction

A piece of Roger Federer’s 20-time Grand Slam-winning career is up for grabs, as his 2004 Wimbledon racquet is currently up for auction by Prestige Memorabilia.

Out of eight total Wimbledon titles, this racquet belongs to the second—which was also notable as Federer’s first ever major title defense.

Recall that world No. 2 at the time Andy Roddick was his opponent in the 2004 final. The American won the opening set, but the Swiss famously rallied all the way back and closed out the match with an ace in the fourth set.

According to Prestige Memorabilia, this is the only photo-matched Federer racquet from any Grand Slam win to ever be auctioned. A closer look at the racquet reveals a signature from Federer himself to Anna Wintour and her daughter: “To Anna + Bee, Roger Federer.”

The racquet is expected to sell for over $100,000, with the current bid at $17,716. The auction is open until Sunday, February 9.

Sixteen other items are currently up for auction as well, including a signed shirt from Federer’s 2020 match in Africa against Rafael Nadal, Nadal’s 2020 French Open “Mario” worn shoes, and Roddick’s 2004 Davis Cup final worn shirt.
