The GOAT has spoken, and she's a fan. Serena Williams delivered her verdict on the Hollywood's tennis blockbuster, Challengers, in a recent interview with *The New York Times *magazine.

"I thought it was good!" Williams said in a wide-ranging interview with David Marchese, where she talked about what she's been up to since stepping away from tennis two summers ago.

Good? Sure. But satisfying? Maybe not. The flick, which stars A-lister Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy who sees her playing career end due to injury, ends on a bit of a cliffhanger as it relates to her co-stars Mike Faist and Josh O'Connor, who are competing not just in a tennis match, but for her heart.

"I wanted there to be more of an ending," Williams added. "I told Zendaya, 'Listen, is there more? Like, I want more. Did they win?' I don’t want to give away the ending."

While much was made of how true the film's plot was to reality, from the tennis instruction Brad Gilbert gave the actors to Easter-egg details that avid fans loved , Williams said she found the interpersonal dynamics of the film the most compelling.

"I thought it was pretty accurate. Sometimes you can become really connected to whoever you’re with, or “codependent” is a better word," she said. "I feel like I was codependent with Venus. So I actually felt like there was so much accuracy in there about things that we don’t think about as tennis players or even talk about as tennis players.

"There’s definitely a lot of co-depending. You can also be a loner in tennis, so I don’t know. ... I liked the movie. That’s all I can say."

She wasn't alone: Since its April release, the film has grossed nearly $50 million at the box office in the U.S., and more than $92 million abroad. That puts it among the Top 20 highest-grossing movies this year.
