Iga and Daniil.

That’s what the “ID” in the new Tecnifibre T-Fight ID stands for. The collection matches a bold new blue look for the racquet with flourishes reflecting the franchise’s signature ambassadors.

Tecnifibre’s racquets are predominantly white. Not just the T-Fight, but the TF-40 and TF-X1 silos as well. So the brand wanted to come up with a fresh colorway that not only gives fans and players another attractive option, but also pays tribute to the company’s biggest stars.

Both Swiatek and Medvedev are former US Open champions and world No. 1s. They’ve helped popularize Tecnifibre in the pro ranks as well as recreational circles. They also share a friendly off-court relationship that started with video chats during the Covid lockdown. The T-Fight ID collection is inspired by their unique connection.

The blue shade on the frame echoes the hard courts of Flushing Meadows. The green accents mirror the exterior of the Statue of Liberty—a New York landmark that shares Tecnifibre’s French roots. At 12 o’clock on the hoop of the frame sit two flames—a nod to the monument’s torch—with ’21 and ’22 written on each to commemorate the years Medvedev and Swiatek won their respective titles. Both players’ racquets will sport the blue cosmetic during the summer months through the US Open.

Two of the current T-Fights will be given the ID treatment. The specs and playability on the racquets will remain identical to the white standard models. One is the T-Fight 305S—Medvedev’s racquet of choice—which has become the most popular in the line. The latest T-Fights focused on increased maneuverability, and the 305S benefitted greatly from the adjustment. It made the frame easier to use and generate swing speed without losing its great feel and the precision offered by its distinctive 18x19 string pattern.

Even though Swiatek endorses the T-Fight 300S, the other ID option is the T-Fight 300. The newest member of the family has a more user-friendly 100 square-inch head—Swiatek plays with a 98—that suits a wider demographic. It’s also lighter and more spin-friendly than the 305S for greater accessibility.

Along with the racquets, the ID collection includes a bag (Tour Endurance 12R) and three vibration dampeners with symbolic shapes. A pretzel is a reference to Medvedev’s quirky, gangly playing style (in addition to being what Swiatek called him in one of those Covid calls); a bagel represents Swiatek’s proclivity for handing opponents 6-0 sets; and a flame logo for Lady Liberty’s torch.

The T-Fight ID line launches on July 23. The 305S ID will be exclusively sold at Tennis Warehouse in the U.S., Europe and Australia. The rest of the collection will be available at select specialty retailers.
