It was a historic final in Hiroshima on Saturday, headlined by Nao Hibino and Misaki Doi with Hibino defeating her countrywoman 6-3, 6-2, despite getting broken twice in the first set.

The day marked the first all-Japanese WTA final in 22 years.

Saturday was Hibino's second career WTA title, following her victory at the Tashkent Open in 2015. The 24- year-old didn't just stop there, as she and Doi teamed up to win the doubles final over Valeria Savinykh and Christina McHale.

The Japanese pair lost the first set before rallying to win in a decider, 3-6, 6-4, 10-4. The week pushed Hibino up 59 spots to return to the Top 100 at No. 87.

Hibino's next challenge is in Osaka where she will take on Varvara Flink in the first round.
