Ons Jabeur created another historic moment for her country on Sunday: the Tunisian defeated Daria Kasatkina in straight sets to win the Viking Classic title in Birmingham. Not only was this the 26-year-old’s first title of her career, it was the first time any Arab woman won a WTA title.

This was Jabeur’s third final of her career; all three were played on different surfaces. She also reached the doubles final alongside Ellen Perez, but the pair ultimately lost to Lucie Hradecka and Marie Bouzkova.

She was nevertheless all smiles after her singles final.

Jabeur has set multiple records for Arab tennis during her career. She was the first to win a girl's Grand Slam singles title at Roland Garros in 2011, and is now the highest-ranked Arab woman of all time, currently sitting at world No. 24—far ahead of the second best, Selima Sfar, who had a career-high ranking of No. 75.
