Bernard Tomic continues to be an enigma on the tour, and not in a good way. The Australian looked disinterested during his first round match against Taylor Fritz at Roland Garros, losing in a quick 82 minutes, flying through his own service games; the final set occurred in just 20 minutes.

Q: Were you at your best out there today or was it the surface or the weather or a combination? What were the factors?

Tomic: Well, I didn't play good.

It's possible that Tomic could draw ire from the officials, potentially breaking the rule for tanking during a tournament. Yet it was press conference  after that made Tomic look even more bored, answering questions in short bursts, admitting that he wanted off of the court by the end.

Q: Nick said that he didn't like the French at all.

Tomic: I agree.

Yet Tomic says that he gave his best, despite the boos during his match.  “Pretty sure I did," he said. "But, you know, the surface is not good for me...It’s just my game is not built for this surface. Everything I do is not good for it. But as long as I’m doing the right thing now, for the next month, is important for me. That’s my focus.”

Still, most of his answers left journalists puzzled.

Q: What's your plans now?

Tomic: I go to the hotel.

The Australian is now 3-10 on the Parisian clay courts.
