Live from Melbourne, it’s Saturday Monday night!

Nick Kyrgios and comedian/impersonator Elliot Loney have taken Sunday’s attention-grabbling headlines at the Australian Open and turned it into their own fake news skit.

A day after Novak Djokovic declined a post-match interview with Jim Courier in response to comments made by Channel Nine’s Tony Jones, the Aussie pals made a mockery of the commentator’s controversial remarks.

The video begins with the 2022 Wimbledon finalist wrapping a segment, “And that’s what’s making headlines, around the globe. Nick Kyrgios, Live News.”

Loney, playing the role of Djokovic, then goes off, “Kyrgios is a has-been. Kyrgios is overrated. Kyrgios kick him out (laughter). Boy I’m glad he cannot hear me, you know, because that would be…”

“Novak, we’re on live television, mate,” said the presenting Kyrgios.

Responded Loney's Djokovic character, “Yeah, yeah, of course, of course. Who would be stupid enough to say that on live television?” as another chuckle followed.

“Yeah, no one,” concluded Kyrgios.

Said Djokovic after defeating Jiri Lehecka, "I leave it to Channel 9 to handle this the way they think they see fit. That’s all."

Both wore matching black Djokovic t-shirts. Prior to posting the clip, Kyrgios defended his Brisbane International doubles partner with an expletive-filled response that included the declaration, ”Tony Jones, you absolute flop.”

Jones would later apologize for his actions.

The real Djokovic, meanwhile, returns to Rod Laver Arena Tuesday night for a blockbuster quarterfinal showdown with third seed Carlos Alcaraz.
