For the first time since the 2016 US Open when Stan Wawrinka lifted the US Open trophy, there will be a new champion outside of the "Big Three". Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev will take Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday to battle for the crown, in a Grand Slam final like never before.

Thiem frustrated 2018 US Open finalist Daniil Medvedev from start to finish and did a great job in not losing focus against the unbelievably consistent Russian The Austrian posted a 6-2, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (5) score to advance into his third Grand Slam final. Heading into Sunday's final, he has claimed 12 of his last 13 matches.

"We have such a great friendship and rivalry as well and it's really really amazing that we face off each other in the Grand Slam final," Thiem said.

Daniil Medvedev

The No. 3 seed had his fair share of chances in sets one and two, but wasn't able to execute in the critical moments. Medvedev still had another spectacular run in New York and will be a strong contender for many more years to come.

Alexander Zverev

For the first time in his career, Zverev battled back from two sets down to win, and it just so happened to be in one of the most critical matches of his career thus far. The German defeated Pablo Carreno Busta, 3-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-3, to advance into his first Grand Slam final.

Pablo Carreno Busta

The Spaniard came out strong against Zverev, taking the first two sets with ease, but Zverev didn't go away. The German continued to find his rhythm and it got better and better as the match went on. Carreno Busta just could not find the energy to close it out.

Laura Siegemund and Vera Zvonareva

Siegemund and Zvonareva defeated Nicole Melichar and  Yifan Xu, 6-4, 6-4, to capture the doubles crown. Coming into this year's US Open, the duo had never even competed together, but the two dominated their way through the draw, only dropping one set along the way. It's Zvonareva's second US Open title, having won the doubles crown 14 years ago.
