The countdown to Laver Cup is on—and this year, fans have more ways than ever to experience the action.

Ahead of the event at San Francisco’s Chase Center from September 19–21, organizers announced a slate of fan-focused innovations, from enhanced bench cams and mic’d-up team captains to the launch of Laver Cup Hub, a new digital destination designed to bring fans closer to the tournament.

The buzziest addition? Laver Cup Animated.

This real-time broadcast feed uses skeletal tracking data to transform players like Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud, and João Fonseca into digital avatars—creating a mixed-reality spectacle that looks straight out of a video game. Every moment on court, from warm-up to match point, will be dynamically recreated with animated avatars battling it out on the signature gray court.

New this year, the Tennis Channel app will simulcast singles matches with the Laver Cup Animated feed. Fans can also catch select matches on Tennis Channel 2, the network’s sibling channel.

First tested at the 2024 Australian Open, animated match streams skyrocketed in popularity this year when clips went viral—including the unforgettable digital Daniil Medvedev smashing a pixelated net camera. Laver Cup’s version promises an even smoother experience. Organizers have already teased slick preview clips showing lifelike avatars and a faithfully rendered Chase Center, down to the “Laver Cup San Francisco 2025” logo stamped on the gray court.

The new feature is designed to appeal to a younger generation of tennis fans, while also making the event more accessible and engaging for families and children.

On the court, Team Europe arrives with fresh star power: US Open champion and new world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz leads the lineup under first-time captain Yannick Noah, joined by Zverev, Ruud, Holger Rune, Jakub Mensik and Flavio Cobolli.

They’ll aim to defend their title against Team World, led by American favorite Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Francisco Cerundolo, Alex Michelsen, Reilly Opelka and Fonseca—with Andre Agassi also making his debut as captain.
