Nathan Chen may have visited the BNP Paribas Open earlier in the day, but Marcos Giron and JJ Wolf proved they were tennis’ quad kings after a dramatic first round of men’s doubles.

Giron and Wolf shook off disappointing defeats in singles to edge past Italians Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Sonego, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (7), 10-1, and debuted a unique celebration as they saluted the Court 6 crowd.

The inside joke dates back to at least 2020, when Wolf shared an impressive Instagram post from that year’s Roland Garros.

“Classic Quad-Squad practice to get ready for tomorrow’s match,” Wolf captioned. “As Founding Fathers @mcosgiron and I will now be accepting applications,” adding apropos hashtags like “#thickness” and “#legday.”

Thick thighs indeed saved lives in their first official match as a pair Saturday night, booking them a second-round encounter with No. 5 seeds Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliövaara.

Can the Quad Father sequel prove even better than the original?
