Andreeva Nike HQ 2024

Fast-rising Mirra Andreeva took an “unforgettable” detour on her way home from Indian Wells, as she recently stopped by the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. for a day with the sports apparel giant.

The 16-year-old posted up a storm on social media to document her trip, and shared a video of her experience on Instagram.

“Visited Nike’s home!!” Andreeva wrote in a caption. “What an awesome journey it was… Thank you all for this unforgettable day.”

A grinning Andreeva seemed to enjoy every minute of her trip to the massive campus, which includes buildings named after the brand’s biggest stars: the Michael Jordan Building sits out front by the John McEnroe Building, while the Pete Sampras Building and the Serena Williams Building—the largest in the whole complex—are located nearby.

While at Nike’s WHQ, she was also seen checking out some iconic sports memorabilia on display, like historic kits and trophies, and also got to try on her upcoming apparel—and somehow still had time to shoot some hoops and hit a few forehands for the cameras.

Andreeva recently bowed out of the BNP Paribas Open after falling in the opening round 7-5, 7-5 to Katie Volynets, later pulling out of doubles with Anastasia Potapova due to a right wrist injury. On Monday, she announced her withdrawal from the Miami Open, where she was set to make her tournament debut, citing arm tendonitis.

“I have made this difficult decision for me to pull out of Miami,” Andreeva wrote on Instagram Stories. “I’ve always wanted to play this amazing tournament, so it was very hard for me to decide to skip it this year.

“I have been struggling with some arm tendonitis and decided to be (cautious) about it, take some time to recover and be ready for the clay season.”

The Russian, currently ranked No. 38, is 6-3 on the year after an up-and-down start to her sophomore season. The 16-year-old opened with a run to the quarterfinals in Brisbane and a trip to the Australian Open fourth round in her tournament debut, equalling her career best Grand Slam run (2023 Wimbledon). But her momentum was halted after suffering back-to-back first-round exits in Dubai and Indian Wells.

Andreeva will now aim to be rested and ready as she gears up for the clay season, where her rise up the rankings began in earnest with a breakthrough run to the Madrid Open fourth round.
