It's not everyday you see Roland Garros matches in late September, and it's also not everyday you see a player run out of racquets.

Katarina Zavatska grabbed the first set over No. 5 seed Kiki Bertens on Monday and ended up in a decider. Across 10 minutes early in the third, she broke three strings in two games and ran out of Yonex racquets.

Her coach would have to give her his own, a Babolat, so she wouldn't have to play with a broken string.

It made for some drama as the 20-year-old Ukrainian couldn't hold back her frustration.

The match was a big opportunity for the world No. 112 after capitalizing on Bertens' slow start. There are stringers available at Roland Garros, but a newly strung frame takes time and Zavatska ran out of it with Bertens moving into the second round, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0.
