"Challengers" star Zendaya has turned heads throughout the spring press tour for the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster with looks inspired by her source material, from a glittering, green dress that personified a tennis ball, to a sporty, pleated skirt that wouldn't have been out of place at Wimbledon.

She's taking her latest fashion cues from two of the sport's greatest players of all time.

In a new shoot for Vogue magazine, the actress paid tribute to the Williams sisters in a flowing, black-and-white Carolina Herrera gown and white beads, an identical look to the one that Venus and Serena Williams wore for a shoot for the magazine in May of 1998, when a 17-year-old Serena and a 18-year-old Venus were photographed by Annie Leibovitz embracing on a white couch.

Herrera designer Wes Gordon told Vogue this week that the image of the sisters remains one of his favorites "to this day," and he teamed up with Zendaya's longtime stylist, Law Roach, to recreate the "iconic" look for the 27-year-old A-lister.

Roach shared the photos on his Instagram account by calling it an "ode to the greats."

"We thank you for all you've done," he added, tagging the Williams sisters in the caption.

Zendaya might've even gotten the chance to discuss her reprise of the iconic photoshoot with Venus Williams herself, as the seven-time Grand Slam singles champion was among the guests at the "Challengers" Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday. Previously expressing her excitement that the elder Williams was attending—"I have to find her!" she said in an interview—Zendaya later shared a snapshot of her on the red carpet at the premiere.

With it, she wrote: "Wow ... this is so special."

"Update: Zendaya found me," Williams later wrote in the comments.

Challengers hits theaters in the U.S. on April 26.
