NEW YORK—The 2025 US Open was forced to cancel play on its outer courts on Wednesday due to inclement weather, postponing the second round of its qualifying tournament to Thursday.

The semifinals and final of the revamped mixed doubles event is still set to take place Wednesday evening thanks to the Arthur Ashe Stadium roof.

Following a storm that delayed action past the scheduled 11AM start, play briefly got underway across the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center before the rain returned to drive players back off court.

No matches were completed on Wednesday.
