Carlos Alcaraz kicks off milestone 60th career week at No. 1 on ATP rankings

Carlos Alcaraz just wrapped up another fantastic week in Doha, already capturing his second title of the year, his 10th in the last 13 months and the 26th of his career.

And now, there’s even more good news.

He kicks off his milestone 60th career week at No. 1 on the ATP rankings today, becoming just the 13th player to hit that number since official ATP rankings began in 1973.

Also, at 22, Alcaraz is the second-youngest player to amass 60 career weeks at No. 1 in ATP rankings history, after Hewitt, who was 21 when he reached that milestone.

The Spaniard is younger than everyone else when they achieved the feat, though, including his chief rival, Sinner, who was 23 when he did it, as well as every one of the Big 3—Federer was 23, Nadal was 24 and Djokovic was 25.

Speaking of Sinner, the Italian also hits a notable milestone today, as he kicks off his 100th career week in the Top 2 of the ATP rankings. And those 100 weeks have all come consecutively, since he first rose to No. 2 on April 1st, 2024, after winning the ATP Masters 1000 event in Miami.

Of those 100 career (and consecutive) weeks in the Top 2, he’s spent 66 of them at No. 1, and this is his 34th at No. 2.
