Carlos Alcaraz has extended his Masters 1000 winning streak to 15 matches in a row with a grueling 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 victory over Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Open on Friday.

And his excellence at this level is starting to become historic.

With his latest victory, Alcaraz has now surpassed Roger Federer for the third-best career winning percentage in Masters 1000 history, since this level of tournament began back in 1990.

Alcaraz went from .7788 (81-23) to .7810 (82.23) with his win over Rublev, surpassing Federer’s winning percentage of .7791 (381-108).

The Spaniard now only trails the other two members of the Big 3, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, on the all-time list.

Alcaraz is also just the ninth player ever to win 15 or more matches in a row at Masters 1000s, and just the second player born in 2000 or later—or even 1988 or later—to achieve the feat, after Jannik Sinner.

The Spaniard’s streak is all from this year and includes five wins en route to the title in Monte Carlo, six wins en route to the title in Rome and four wins en route to the semifinals in Cincinnati.

The Italian’s streak ran between 2024 and 2025. He won Cincinnati (4-0) and Shanghai (6-0) last year and won five more matches en route to the final in Rome this year, where he fell to Alcaraz.
